Israel Adesanya admires the prowess of Sean Strickland, but he expects Dricus Du Plessis to put him down at UFC 297.

Dricus Du Plessis submits UFC middleweight title Sean Strickland to the ground, as observed by Israel Adesanya.

Strickland defeated Adesanya at UFC 293, winning the championship, while Du Plessis had to rely on grappling in “The Last Stylebender” to defeat him.

On Saturday at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Strickland (28-5 MMA, 15-5 UFC) defends his first title against Du Plessis (20-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC) in the main event of UFC 297.

“Dricus intends to attempt to wrestle him,” Adesanya wrote on YouTube. “He will, without a doubt, stand up initially and perform his offbeat rhythm, among other things.

However, since Sean’s jab is underrated, his opponent could potentially land a jab in the first round, forcing him to transition to grappling.

Although I never undervalued it, I have since realized that it is underrated. After the fight, it didn’t take me long to figure it out.

“I was preoccupied with something unrelated to him during the fight, and I was unable to discern it because I was unconsciously preoccupied with something else that had to do with myself and not him.”

Yet, Dricus is peculiar. How he strikes is evident. “Despite its ugliness, it proves to be highly effective.”

Despite Strickland’s successful dismissal, Adesanya forecasts Du Plessis to emerge victorious. Adesanya and Du Plessis were on an obstacle course before UFC 293, when Strickland challenged Adesanya for the title.

“I intend to support Dricus,” declared Adesanya. “Is it capable of traveling the distance?” I will be saying no. It is not that I lack regard for Sean or his abilities.

The individual defeated me, so I naturally held his abilities in high regard. … I use the word “sub.” “He will submit to him.”

Strickland’s attack on Du Plessis at T-Mobile Arena, where both competitors were in attendance, caught Adesanya off guard. Strickland’s unfiltered speech led Adesanya to anticipate greater self-control on his part.

Adesanya stated that he did not watch it, although he heard that Sean was triggered. “I thought, ‘Oh, that’s completely out of character,'” upon witnessing the altercation.

However, although Scotland is capable of dishonoring it, it is unable to accept it. Each of us has our own set of rules, and we will do anything to achieve victory.

Certain individuals are willing to do anything to achieve victory, including fabricating lies, taking things out of context, and even targeting loved ones. A few individuals use steroids to win.

Sean Strickland will make his first middleweight title defense this weekend at UFC 297 after he confronts Dricus du Plessis. Israel Adesanya, a former two-time middleweight champion, recently disclosed his prediction for the match.

Both combatants, however, appear uninterested. During the event’s pre-fight press conference, ‘Tarzan’ and ‘Stillknocks’ learned that ‘The Last Stylebender’ had placed his wager on the challenger to prevail.

UFC 297 will be the first middleweight championship bout since UFC 217 in 2017 to not feature Adesanya.

Despite Strickland and du Plessis repeatedly downplaying his significance, reports indicate that the promotion mandates the presence of the two-time welterweight champion at the cage side of the event for “promotional purposes.”

It is unknown whether he will be required to confront the victor in the octagon. Nevertheless, much conjecture has surrounded his potential receipt of the subsequent middleweight championship opportunity.

“Dricus is the one I’m going to support,” Adesanya announced on his channel on YouTube. “Will it endure the distance?” I will be saying no. It’s not that I lack regard for Sean or his abilities; he defeated me.

His abilities are without a doubt, and I admire them. I shall refer to it as [submission]. “He will submit to him.”

In September of last year, Adesanya was originally slated to defend his middleweight title against du Plessis at UFC 293. However, due to injury, Strickland unexpectedly replaced “Stillknocks”.

In addition to delivering one of the most impressive defensive striking performances of recent memory, “Tarzan” defeated his opponent via decision to earn an enormous upset victory.

Curtis sustained a dislocated spine, a broken back, and a fractured neck in a situation that transpired on January 11th during training.

Unfortunately, his spinal cord sustained an injury as well. According to the initial report, the treatment would necessitate a five-month hospital stay and additional rehabilitation time with specialists.
