Isi Palazón ends Rayo's scoring drought at home

The calendar is whimsical and Rayo faced last week with the aim of improving their numbers at home, facing two consecutive exits (Tartiere and Belmonte). These have done nothing more than to show that the red-fringed have two faces. They are intractable in Vallecas —three victories in three games—, but far from there they lose steam. In fact, they had not added since the first match at Son Moix (0-1) and, after facing Oviedo (0-0) and Albacete (2-1), they have only managed to scratch one more point.

Isi returned to eleven at Belmonte and became, once again, the great protagonist of Rayo. The Murcian picked up a cross from Advíncula and, after dribbling a rival, made it 2-1. This both cut distances with Albacete, but did not prevent a new stumble. Although, yes, It ended the scoring drought of the Vallecanos away from home. Isi scored 390 minutes after having done it in the league premiere against Mallorca.

Of the nine Rayo targets in these eight days, only two have been as visitors and both have been signed by the team's top scorer. Isi has scored four goals (Mallorca, Málaga, Espanyol and Albacete) and has given an assist (Málaga), so his presence is essential in the Franco attack. Speaking in figures, the winger has participated in 55% of Rayo's goals. Y Not only has he established himself as the player who finishes the most on the squad, he is also a Second, with a total of 22, tied with the sportinguista Djurdjevic.

Despite the fact that Rayo has been struggling to score lately —two goals in the last four games—, in general terms, It is one of the most prolific squads in front of goal. Only Las Palmas, with eleven targets, and Cartagena and Lugo, with ten, surpass him. For now, five different footballers have wetted: Isi, Catena, Comesaña, Pozo and Antoñín. Their two forwards Qasmi and the recovered Ulloa, who touched the tie in the final leg of Sunday's match, have not yet done so.
