Irati Idiakez, banked slalom world champion in La Molina

MADRID, 15 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish Irati Idiakez won this Wednesday the gold medal in the dual banked slalom modality at the Paralympic Snowboarding World Championships, which are held at the La Molina resort (Girona Pyrenees).

The Gipuzkoan skier, who had her biggest rival in the United States, Peggy Martin, thus took her third medal in the competition after having won silver in the cross-country category and gold in team cross-country together with the also Spanish Raquel Martínez.

Idiakez’s victory this Wednesday goes straight to the history books of Spanish sports since it is the first in an individual event of the Spanish Paralympic Snowboarding World Championships.
