Iraola: “The dressing room knows that now they have to push”

Fair defeat?: “Football is a game of hits and misses. We weren’t right. The game was balanced and we had some clearer shots than them, but they managed to score and we left empty-handed”.

To reset: “We are having a problem because we don’t score. We are having a hard time scoring goals. We have to look for the best solution of players, of options to try to be more effective”.

Second long lap: “I see the team doing well. We’ve played against Sevilla, Atlético… I don’t feel like they’ve beaten us. It’s hard to justify yourself when you don’t win. I see them alive, eager, confident… We have a offensive problem.

Solution to the lack of goal: “We have offensive players who can score goals. We will have to make adjustments, take more risks… The team, in general, is defending well. We will have to charge the area more. Football rewards success. They have been successful. There are things to improve”.

Concern: “We must make the points we have to make to save ourselves. Nobody is going to give them to us. I trust my players. Before the games I have the feeling that we can get our hands on the rival. This dressing room knows that now we have to push, train and trust in what we are doing. We are in a situation in which a good result would make us see things differently”.

Miss Falcao: “I am convinced that those same players who have scored will do so again”.

Guardiola’s form: “I see it well because otherwise I wouldn’t put it on. He gives us a lot of things and makes the team play better. He brings us closer to the opposing goal, he never hides. I have no doubts about him. I hope he gets the prize”.

After the match, Iraola has also analyzed the defeat against Atlético de Madrid on Movistar+:

Match match: “It was a fairly even game, especially they were more successful than us. We’ve had chances as clear or more than theirs and in the end it’s clear that on an offensive level you have to get it right in order to score. On a defensive level it’s normal that Atlético de Madrid can score a goal for you, the issue is that you have to punish more times with the chances you have”.

Goal foul: “These are quite clear chances, but well, in the end we have to insist, especially now that we’re not making goals, defending very well, because every goal they score against us punishes us a lot and we have to keep improving”.

Objective: “We have a very clear goal, which is to play in the First Division next year and we still don’t have the points that give us access to it, and we have to keep adding up and fight in every game”.
