International arrest warrant for Luis Rubiales, in the Dominican Republic: the former president of the RFEF is now returning to Spain

The Prosecutor’s Office has requested the arrest of the former president of the Royal Football Federation and six other members of the sports body for possible irregularities in the contract with Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup. According to News Four, Rubiales has made himself available to the Spanish authorities from Dominican Republic and he already has a plane ticket to return to our country. The operation leaves seven people detained: five in Madrid and two in Granada.

The Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard has searched the home of Luis Rubiales in Granada, one of the eleven places that they planned to inspect within the framework of the device directed by the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 4 of Majadahonda (Madrid). ), in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organized Crime. This same court was the one that began to investigate the contract for the transfer of the Super Cup to Saudi Arabia signed by Rubiales with the businessman and former soccer player Gerard Piqué and drafted by the office of the external legal advisor of the Football Federation, that is, Tomás González Cueto, one of the detainees.

According to legal sources, the judge authorized the entry and search of the RFEF and eleven homes, one of them Rubiales in Granada, in search of a series of documents that the Federation has been requesting throughout the investigation. . It must be remembered that after the scandal related to Hermoso, which disqualified him from FIFA for three years, Rubiales sold his penthouse in Madrid.

The searches have been carried out within the framework of a separate and secret piece within the investigation that revolves around the contract for the transfer of the Super Cup to Saudi Arabia, signed by the then federation president with the businessman and former soccer player.
