Interlagos and the Brazilian Grand Prix renew with Formula 1 until 2030

MADRID, 3 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The José Carlos Pace Autodrome in Sao Paulo (Brazil), better known as the Interlagos Circuit, will host the Brazilian Formula 1 Grand Prix until 2030, after renewing the contract with the competition organizers for five years, the company confirmed this Friday. Formula 1.

The renewal of the Brazilian Grand Prix, included in the ‘Great Circus’ calendar for more than 50 years, is part of the investment made by the Sao Paulo mayor’s office, which seeks to improve the Interlagos circuit to turn it into a place “suitable for host broader entertainment events,” including music concerts.

The president and CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, expressed his satisfaction with the agreement. “I am delighted to announce that we will be staying at Interlagos until 2030, and I cannot wait to enjoy many more years of the wonderful atmosphere that the Brazilian fans provide,” he noted.

“Brazil has a very rich motorsport heritage and this iconic circuit is a favorite of drivers and fans around the world. It embodies everything that is great about racing and we look forward to seeing how it develops over the coming years to create an even greater experience. better,” he added.

For his part, the mayor of Sao Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, highlighted the step forward that the renovation represents. “The extension of the contract for the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Sao Paulo, broadcast in approximately 180 countries, consolidates our city as a world leader in hosting large events with economic and social impact, generating jobs, income and opportunities. Every year we advance in our sustainability agenda, incorporating innovations to overcome challenges and bring more benefits to the city of Sao Paulo and Brazil,” he stated.

Finally, the CEO of the Brazilian Grand Prix, Alan Adler, described it as a “great honor” that Formula 1 renews its contract with the event, which “ensures Sao Paulo’s place on the calendar” of the ‘Great Circus’. “This is recognition of the work we have been doing, with the crucial support of the Sao Paulo City Council. Continuing to be partners of Formula 1 is a source of great pride. Now we will begin to plan for the next few years,” he explained.
