Insigne could head to MLS

The story of Lorenzo Insigne at Naples it could come to an end. The captain ends his contract next summer and has not yet reached an agreement for his renewal, so he is receiving the interest of several teams that wish to take over his services.

The last was the Toronto, which prepares a millionaire offer to take it to the MLS. Canadians offer you a contract 5 years and 10 million per season more bonuses for goals and assists. The franchise features the former US coach Bob Bradley on the bench and with the Spanish Alejandro Pozuelo as a benchmark for the team. Now, looking forward to next year, they are looking to make a splash with the signing of a world star. And the arrival of the Neapolitan star could have that impact that they once achieved with the Italian Sebastian Giovinco.

The first contact between Insigne and Toronto took place in early November. The club’s emissaries formalized the offer, but it remained waiting, trusting that Naples would fulfill its claims. De Laurentiis, however, did not change its position: the offer remained at 3.5 million plus bonuses until 2025. A solution that does not convince the footballer, who at 30 is looking for the last great contract of his career.

Insigne is torn between continuing to play at the highest level or heading to an exotic destination. In this sense, there are several European groups that are after him. Inter and Rome they are his main suitors in the Italian Serie A. In Spain, there has been talk of Atlético de Madrid and in Germany, from Bayern Munich, which sees it as a great market opportunity. And the interest of English clubs could not be lacking either, with Arsenal y Tottenham to the head.

Be that as it may, this could be Lorenzo Insigne’s last season at San Paolo, where he has lived his entire sporting career. Ten seasons in the first team, more than 400 games and 114 goals, one less than Diego Armando Maradona.
