Injuries Reported: Akok Akok Passes Out on the Court During the Second Half of the Game Against George Mason

West Virginia University forward Akok Akok passed out on the floor during the first few minutes on the second half of the charity exhibition game that West Virginia was playing versus George Mason.

He struggled to rise to his feet but was ultimately unsuccessful. Before placing him on a stretcher, he was attended to by medical professionals and trainers for around ten to fifteen minutes.

Akok Akok, a forward for the West Virginia men’s basketball team, was rushed to a local hospital following suffering a “medical emergency” on Friday night while attending the Mountaineers’ charity exhibition game versus George Mason in Morgantown. The game was for charity. George Mason was the opponent.

During the second half of the game, Akok passed out on the court. According to ESPN, the injured man “was moving on the ground but looked disoriented as he tried to get back up, prompting West Virginia medical professionals to stop him.”

After what WVU referred to as a “medical emergency,” Akok was eventually taken away on a stretcher and sent to Ruby Memorial Hospital near West Virginia “for further evaluation.”

After the game, West Virginia’s interim head coach Josh Eilert commented to the media that Akok is “stable, he’s responsive, he wanted to ensure sure he congratulated the other players, and he’s in a good place right now.”

Akok’s team won the game, thus Eilert noted that Akok wanted to make certain he congratulated his teammates. They are most likely going to detain him for the night and do a number of examinations on him.

“I never in a million years would have predicted that I would have to deal in a scenario like that… It’s very upsetting to think about. We are relieved that he is still among us.

Slazinski, a forward, said that “all is fine” and that Akok was sending his teammates congrats after the game.

“Everything ought to be all right. Slazinski described the incident as “just a really odd accident; we’re just just happy everyone’s OK.”

After Akok passed out during the game, George Mason head coach Tony Skinn reportedly deferred to Eilert’s judgment over whether or not to continue play.

“I made sure that the guys were in an appropriate headspace—a headspace that was good enough to continue the game,” she said. That is very significant,” Eilert emphasized.

“They wanted to play, and we decided it would be best to move on and try to navigate the page and get out there to warm up, and go after ’em.”

A flurry in medical workers immediately raced to Akok’s side when he passed unconscious as he was leaving the court for the start of the media break of the second half. Akok had just finished going off the court.

During the wait that lasted for more than ten minutes, medical personnel appeared to pull open Akok’s jersey in order to administer an IV to him.

According to the team’s Twitter feed, he was carried off the court with a stretcher and sent to Ruby Memorial Hospital to receive additional observation after being taken off the court in the stretcher.

“WVU forward Akok Akok suffered an illness during the second portion of the West Virginia-George Fairfax charity exhibition game,” the institution said in a statement.

“He was taken by ambulance to Ruby Memorial Hospital so that he could be observed there. When new information becomes available, we will share it with you.

After the game, the interim coach Josh Eilert reported that Akok was in stable condition and has a positive attitude about his recovery.

Even though he is going to be held in for observation during the night, he has already texted his teammates to offer his congratulations on the team’s comeback victory of 85-78.

West Virginia’s interim head coach, Josh Eilert, spoke about the game’s aftermath on his radio show by saying, “I had just been briefed by our medical staff.” “You can rely on him. He’s making a speech right now.

He is doing well and making progress. He was hoping to extend his best wishes and congratulations to the guys. He is doing well and making progress.

However, over the night they are going to keep a close eye on him and do a number of tests in order to figure out exactly what is going on. That is the extent of my knowledge.

“The news that is doing well is like music to my ears. He is such a kind young man, and a wonderful addition to the team.

I had no idea that I would live to witness that moment, much less have to confront myself with the consequences of it. It’s very upsetting to think about.

Eilert stated that he had a conversation with the head coach of George Mason, Tony Skinn, who “left it up to me.”

I made sure that the other players were in a healthy mental space, at least one that would allow us to continue playing the game.

Because of this, as well as the fact that they were interested in playing, we came to the conclusion that it would be best to go on and make an effort to turn the paper around.

After beginning his collegiate career at UConn, Akok went on to play for Georgetown for one season before making the move to West Virginia.

The WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital will receive the donations that are made possible during the exhibition game between West Virginia and George Mason.
