FC Barcelona center back Iñigo Martínez is suffering from a muscle injury to the femoral biceps of his right thigh, the Barça club reported this Monday.
“The tests carried out have shown that the first team player Iñigo Martínez suffers a muscle injury in the femoral biceps of his right thigh. It is low and his evolution will determine his availability,” the culé entity announced in a statement.
The Basque defender was chosen by Xavi Hernández to start Sunday's match against Atlético de Madrid at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys (1-0), but after the warm-up he fell from the eleven and his place was taken by the Danish Andreas Christensen .
This season, the one from Ondarroa has nine games, eight in LaLiga EA Sports and one in the Champions League, in which he has started seven.
