Iniesta, awarded for spreading Spanish culture in Japan

The former FC Barcelona player will collect the award on October 5 in Kyoto at the XXII Spain-Japan Forum

MADRID, 15 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The former international player of FC Barcelona Andrés Iniesta, since 2018 in the Japanese Vissel Kobe, has been awarded for helping to spread Spanish culture in Japan by the Spain-Japan Council Foundation in the ninth edition of its annual awards.

With these awards, which have been given since 2011, this foundation values ​​citizens, companies and institutions that have contributed to bringing the societies of Spain and Japan closer together in any field.

Iniesta will receive the award on October 5 at a ceremony at the Keihanna Science City, which will take place within the framework of the XXII Spain-Japan Forum, on the 4th and 6th of that month in Kyoto.

The jury for the award, made up of representatives of the Board of Trustees of the Spain-Japan Council Foundation, valued Iniesta’s enormous international projection and his contribution to the dissemination of Spanish culture in Japan.

In this edition, the foundation has also awarded the Japanese company Fujitsu for its strong commitment to Spain, where it will celebrate five decades of implementation in 2023.
