In Week 9 of the 2023 NFL season, the Giants confirmed that Daniel Jones tore his ACL, and Cam Akers tore his Achilles again.

Week 9 into the 2023 NFL season is almost over, but there was still a lot of drama in the game.

The Chiefs beat the Dolphins in Germany, so they are still in first place in the AFC. With their win over the Seahawks, the Ravens made their case as the best team in the conference.

It was very close for the Eagles against the Cowboys. And the Bears or Vikings stayed angry even though their QB situations were uncertain.

Another wave for injuries hit in Week 9, though, and a number of well-known players had to leave the game on Sunday.

After Aaron Rodgers’ likely season-ending Achilles tear and Nick Chubb and Kirk Cousins’s major injuries, New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones grew the latest NFL player to hurt his leg this season. This came as players and the league discussed the safety of artificial grass.

In East Rutherford, N.J., New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones tore the ACL in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season. This is the second time in three years that Jones has been hurt and had to miss play.

Jones had an MRI on Monday, and Coach Brian Daboll stated that it showed the tear that will end his season.

The sixth pick to the 2019 draft hurt his neck and missed the last six games of the 2021 season.

Jones was hurt on a non-contact play within the first half of Sunday’s 30-6 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. He is 26 years old and got a four-year, $160 million deal in March.

The Giants are sporting a 2-7 record and don’t have a good chance of making the playoffs for the second year in a row.

Because of the injury, the Giants may have to think about picking a quarterback in the draft next year, especially if they are given a high pick.

Daboll did not know when the surgery would happen or if any additional regions of his knee were hurt.

Jones got hurt on the last play of the initial quarter while looking for a target downfield. His right leg gave out. There was no talk.

Jones was checked out in the medical facility between quarters. He then did some running in the sidelines to show the coaches as well as medical staff that he was healthy enough to go back in.

He fell back on the first play for the second quarter, and his knee collapsed again. He left the game and didn’t come back.

This week, backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor was put on injured reserve due to a rib cage injury, so Tommy DeVito was moved from the practice squad.

He finished the game shooting 15 of 20 over 175 yards and threw a touchdown as well as two interceptions.

Daniel Jones is going to be out for the rest for the season after hurting his knee badly on Sunday. He had just come back from missing three games because of a neck injury.

Head coach Daboll, Brian, told reporters on Monday that an MRI showed Jones had torn his ACL.

Since Tyrod Taylor is already upon injured reserve (IR), the New York Giants have now turned to unknown free agent Tommy DeVito as their starting quarterback.

Taylor could take back the job when he comes back from being hurt, and the Blue Jays also have Matt Barkley on their practice team.

Several important NFL players got hurt in Week 9 of the 2023 season. Daniel Jones, the quarterback for the Giants, tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season. Jaren Hall, the quarterback for the Vikings, got a concussion within his first game start.

Rams running back Cam Akers ripped his left Achilles. This is the second time in four years that he has hurt his Achilles.

Running shoulder Cordarrelle Patterson of the Falcons left the game because he hurt his ankle, and receiver Christian Watson of the Packers left because he hurt his chest and back.

Wide receiver K.J. Osborn of the Vikings got a concussion, and tight end Dallas Goedert of the Eagles broke his wrist.

Jedrick Wills, an offensive blocker for the Browns, hurt his right knee as well as will be out for about six weeks.

Dolphins lineman Robert Jones fled the game because of a knee injury, and Buccaneers safety Jamel Dean got hit in the head.

After Taylor got hurt, he played his first game in the NFL the week before the game against the Jets.
