“I'm hungry, I'm motivated”

Bale's face has changed when he arrived in London. He looks happy, he did not lose his smile while he made his first statements as a new Tottenham player (on loan for one season). He spoke for the television of the London club.

It's nice to be back. It is a very special club for me, where I made a name for myself, with some very special fans… I hope to get in shape in the next matches and really start helping the team. Hopefully we win trophies.

It was the moment?

As I have said for me this is a very special club. Since I left, I always thought of going back one day. The opportunity has arisen and I thought it was a good time for me. I'm hungry, I'm motivated and I want to do well for the team.

How is this Bale different.

I think having been in Madrid winning trophies, successes with the national team … I think I have won a lot in mentality, in knowing how to win trophies. You learn to handle yourself in these pressure situations, in the finals … I hope I can convey to the squad that they believe that it is possible to win trophies. I have been speaking with the president before and we have reminisced about the past. How he has put the club one step ahead, how it grew… What they have done with the stadium is incredible. Everything has changed a bit since I left and now I want to help put the club at the top level. And that means winning trophies. That is what I want.

How about Reguilón?

Reguilón is a great player. I was able to share with him a couple of years at Real Madrid. He had a great season at Sevilla, winning the Europa League. He is a promise on the wing, he has a lot of energy, he makes good centers … A great signing.
