Ibra moves away from penalties

Ibrahimovic is human. The Swedish forward, at 39, broke two records against Verona. One positive and one negative. It was not his best day. Milan drew with Verona (2-2) one of the most uncomfortable teams in Serie A. It could even be worse because Juric's team went 0-2 and Pioli's team had to put on the comeback jumpsuit. They almost succeeded. With a finer Ibra they would have succeeded. And that the Swede surprises his own and strangers with his start to the season. He scored again and is the first player in the history of the Lombard club to see the door in seven consecutive games, counting the five this season and the last two last.

But Ibra left frustrated. “It was a disaster,” he said in the locker room. In the 66 ', with 1-2 on the scoreboard, he sent a penalty sky high. He lost the psychological battle with Silvestri, Verona goalkeeper, who had reminded him of his previous recurring failures. It was the fourth that failed in the last six games and Ibra has said so far. A few dates ago the Swede overcame the coronavirus, which he faced with his usual sneer. “The coronavirus has been unlucky enough to run into Ibra,” it said. Later he used that same ironic line to recommend the use of masks. But now he has shown that he also has weaknesses, has shown his humanity, and has bent the knee to penalties. As soon as he missed Silvestri, he turned around and scratched his head with his right index finger in disgust. He did not understand what was happening to him. It affected his party. Ibra insisted, they even canceled a goal, had chances and ended up scoring 2-2 with anger at the center of Brahim. But he did not forget the penalty and gave up.

“It was a disaster, the next one will be thrown by Kessie,” he insisted after the game. He doesn't want to hear about penalties, at least for now. A few days ago, the Swedish striker explained that, given his great form and the spectacular start of a leading Milan, his great mission was to relieve pressure on his teammates. “The pressure and responsibilities are taken by me, I take care of myself. I like. My colleagues must work, grow and continue like this. Then there are beautiful moments and other difficult ones that are part of the season ”, he explained two weeks ago in Dazn. Now he wants to free himself from the nightmare he is living from the penalty spot. In total, Ibra has missed 15 of the 98 penalties he has taken in his career. The most worrying thing is that in his second cycle at Milan he is at a poor 50%. He has scored four and missed another four.
