MADRID, 11 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Iberdrola begins a new campaign to raise awareness of women’s sports this week, coinciding with the celebration of the Women’s Soccer World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, which will take place from July 20 to August 20.

The media will broadcast a new spot, ‘Campos Ampliados’, in which the best athletes in the country join forces to recreate a huge playing field, vindicating the fantastic moment that women’s sport is living inside and outside the Spanish borders.

In the audiovisual piece, the soccer player Alexia Putellas, twice Ballon d’Or, appeals to a multitude of athletes, such as the swimmer Ona Carbonell, the karateka Sandra Sánchez, the athlete Desiré Vila, the taekwondo athlete Adriana Cerezo, or the champion of weightlifting Lydia Valentin.

Together they will trace the area of a gigantic soccer field that, at the end of the spot, will be revealed as the largest in the world. With this large field of play, the aim has been to recreate the support of all Spanish women’s sports for the women’s soccer team before the Women’s Soccer World Cup.

Iberdrola has been one of the main promoters of women’s sports in Spain since 2016. Currently, it already supports 32 national sports federations and more than 600,000 women, 2 out of 3 federated women.

In addition, it supports 100 sports competitions, 32 of them as Iberdrola leagues, it has 32 Ambassadors, high-level sportswomen, and promotes the Iberdrola Supera Awards, awards worth a total of 300,000 euros that were created to recognize and give visibility to the best sports initiatives in favor of equality and the empowerment of women.
