“I want to play with Cristiano”

Neymar is current after renewing his contract with PSG until 2025. The Brazilian is the cover figure of the magazine GQ Style, in its British version. The PSG player gives an extensive interview on the inside pages about his origins in football, what it means to be in the elite and what he still has to do in the world of football: “

First steps in Brazil: “I started playing football and after six months I was already very famous. I always prepared myself for this, because it was my dream from a very young age.”

Another selection other than Brazil: “There is no other team that I like more, but I am always attentive to the individual players. As a child I loved to watch football by Zidane, Lampard, Rooney, Beckham … those are the type of players I like.”

Favorite matches: “Each one is special, but the game against Atalanta last season (in the Champions League quarterfinals) was very good. I was so happy, it was an emotional game. With the Brazilian team (in a World Cup) it was the first game against the United States. It was very important for me because I scored. And it was at Santos and Barcelona when I won the Libertadores and the Champions League. “

Rituals before matches: “I don't have any specific ones. It's different for each game. When I play at home, in the Parc des Princes, I do things before I leave the house, like different treatments, and I listen to music in my room. Then when I get to the stadium, I try to be a good person, make everyone laugh, and have good vibes to create the best environment for the team. “

Why is soccer so felt in Brazil ?: “The English created soccer, but Brazil is the country of soccer. Everyone plays soccer when they are young, whether they become professionals or just play with their friends, they all have that passion. It is something emotional for Brazilians.”

Short-medium term objectives: “In a professional way I want to win the World Cup. That has always been the biggest dream of my career. But I also want to win all the titles with PSG: the Champions League, the French Cup. I am almost 30 years old and I have a good career , but on a personal level I want to have two more children, to give my son David siblings “.

“What I want the most is to win the World Cup and the Champions League with PSG”

What is left to do ?: “I would choose Cristiano Ronaldo, because I already played with great players like Messi and Mbappé. But I still haven't played alongside Cristiano.”

The damn injuries: “Injury is the worst thing that can happen in a player's career. I hate when these things happen. The last time I was injured I was able to recover at home with my family and friends. They helped me to cheer me up, but about three passed days before I could manage my thoughts and focus on the next steps and when I will get better. “
