“I want him to be well, but also her”

Belén Esteban believes that “the caregiver is very important when a person is ill.” She went with her husband, Miguel, to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the Museo Chicote, in Madrid, and the tenth edition of the awards that the establishment gives out annually, where she confessed that the relationship with the father of her daughter is the same as the one she currently has with the Campos: totally non-existent. However, she said: “I wouldn’t like my relationship with the Campos to be broken forever, but right now I want them to be calm, and so do I.”

Very cheerful and relaxed, Belén Esteban attended the Museo Chicote Awards ceremony on Wednesday 18 September, which celebrated its tenth edition to mark the 93rd anniversary of the establishment, the legendary cocktail bar on Gran Vía that has welcomed so many famous faces throughout its history. Accompanied by her husband, Miguel, Belén recognised that she was in a good moment, much calmer than in other periods of her life and even reconciled with the press. “Now I don’t see you at the door of the house and I miss you. Thank you for putting up with me,” she said affectionately. In fact, she is so far removed from controversy that when we asked her about Jesulín’s recent health scare, admitted to the emergency room a few days ago after suffering from angina, while he was on holiday in Malaga, she had some surprising words of affection for the father of her daughter. And it wasn’t just him.

And unexpectedly, he also took the opportunity to say a few words to Jesús’s wife, María José Campanario, saying: “What I want is for him to be well. Him and María José, because the caregiver is also very important when a person is ill, and I wish Jesús, María José and the whole family well because I may have had a lot of trouble, but I don’t wish bad on anyone. And I just hope that he is much better and that María José is too, because she has been through a lot.”

Despite this “cloak”, he stressed that he has no relationship with them, just as non-existent as the one he currently has with Terelu and Carmen Borrego. However, given the “good-natured” attitude that accompanied the one from San Blas, he left the doors open to a reconciliation: “I wouldn’t like my relationship with the Campos to be broken forever, but right now I want them to be calm, and so do I,” he said, ending the matter.
