“I trust that all tennis players are vaccinated to be able to play”

Tennis player Andy Murray, winner of three Grand Slam titles, believes that all players will have to be vaccinated to continue playing tournaments. The Briton trusts that they will do it “for the good of the sport to be able to play” and so that everyone is “safe”.

“I trust that the players will support this measure if that means that the circuit can return to normal,” said the one who was number one in the world. “I guess we're not going to know the long-term effects in a while, but from what I've heard on TV and in the news, there are no long-term effects,” Murray added.

Other tennis players, such as Novak Djokovic, were reluctant to the vaccine months ago. The Serbian pointed out that he would not like to be forced to put it on in order to continue participating in games. Murray is currently at his residence on the outskirts of London waiting for the Victorian Government to make a decision. definitive on when tennis players can go to do the fourteen-day quarantine prior to the Australian Open.

“I'll go as soon as I can. A lot of players will come from cold climates and ask them to go straight to 35 or 36 degrees without preparation … That greatly increases the risk of injuries and that the quality of the tennis is not very good “, Murray stated.
