It is one of the news of the day: the Princess of Wales, who was diagnosed with cancer last January, has announced that her chemotherapy treatment for the disease has come to an end. Reactions have not been long in coming and one of the first has been from the presenter of the evening show on Mediaset, Ana Rosa Quintana: “This is a long and difficult process, but you can get through it. We must give hope to people who have cancer.”
At 68, she has just overcome a breast cancer that kept her away from the media for almost a year. She announced it in November 2021 and since then she has undergone medical treatments and recommendations, including surgery. Currently, as she herself has confessed, she is well but continues with “very strong medication.” Kate Middleton’s good news has filled her with joy: “Thank God there are many treatments, they work great. I wake up every day and thank God for opening my eyes.”
The Princess of Wales issued a statement on Monday via social media to announce that her chemotherapy treatment has come to an end: “As the summer draws to a close, I cannot express how relieved I am to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” she began. “The last nine months have been incredibly difficult for us as a family. Life as we know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate turbulent waters and an uncharted path.”
Kate Middleton’s words were accompanied by previously unpublished images with her children and her husband, William of England: “The journey against cancer is complex, frightening and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you (…) Doing everything I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my road to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. However, I am looking forward to returning to work and making some public engagements in the coming months when I am able.”
