“I prefer to win on Monday than tomorrow in the Cup, but we will be competitive”

The Elche coach, Francisco Rodriguez, said this Wednesday at a press conference that he prefers his team to win the game of Monday in LaLiga against Espanyol to do it tomorrow Thursday against Almería in the Cup, although he guaranteed that he does not despise this tournament and that he will bet on a competitive formation.

“I am going to be very realistic. I’ve already started watching Espanyol games “, confessed the Almeria, who assured that Elche will try to make “the best possible match” against “the best second team”.

“We will take the game as a touchstone for Monday,” he insisted.or Francisco, who admitted that “it is always nice” to face the club in which he was formed and in his city.

“I always wish that club the best, but tomorrow we will try to get through the tie,” said the Almeria coach, who regretted the “circumstances” in which Elche had to prepare for this commitment.

We have recovered people, but they have only been training for a day and he has not competed since before the holidays. We will try to handle the situation to arrive prepared in the best possible way on Monday ”, he argued.

Francisco did not want to qualify the Cup duel as “a training session, because it is a beautiful game, but circumstances rule.”

“The virus has passed over all computers and we will try to save the situation in the best way, “commented the coach, who praised the depth of Almería’s squad, which he sees” more balanced in all its lines and dominating all facets of the game “than in previous seasons.

“Almería is close to resembling a First Division team,” said the coach, who guaranteed that “he will demand the most, as in any training session”, from the players who take the field against Almería.

“We are not going to throw away the Cup and the team is ready to compete, but we are going to give people who need minutes the opportunity to play. The team will be competitive because everyone is prepared ”, concluded the Almeria.
