“I have been with Barça since I was little, but today there are no feelings”

Albert Dorca (Girona, December 23, 1982) faces Barcelona this Thursday, a club that welcomed him for four years, two for Youth and two for Barça C. The Cornellà midfielder is excited to face the Barça first team and despite to that he confesses that, since he was little, “I have always been from Barça, today there are no feelings.” After eliminating Atlético de Madrid they want to repeat the feat and hope to “play a good game so that people are proud”.

-What did you think when Barça played you?

-That El Gordo had touched us again. A tremendous illusion. They are one of the best teams in the world and for us it is a reward and pride that they come to play against us. We hope to enjoy, but from the competitiveness. We have to make them an uncomfortable match. They are very good and the one you make a mistake penalizes you. We will go with great desire.

-Does it scare you?

-Not at all. It is true that you play before your idols, footballers that you see every weekend on television, but they are still soccer players. We want to beat them and that is done by seeing their weaknesses. It's a football game and anything can happen. With Atlético we have already shown it and we hope to play a good game to get a good taste in our mouths and people are proud.

-They surprised Atlético. Can you repeat?

-You have to be realistic, they have a lot of level. They will try to dominate the game and we will have to take advantage of what they leave us. They are not used to playing on fields like ours, small and with artificial grass, and it can benefit us a lot. We will give 200 percent. We have to be competitive and push them as much as we can.

-Does not winning the Spanish Super Cup make Barça more dangerous?

-More than they are? (smile). I'm sure they will come to play a very serious game and they will want to pass. For the club they represent they are obliged to win all the titles. They will bring out a great team. Whoever comes, the level of these templates is brutal. It will be world class people.

-The one who is not sure is Messi …

-Yes and, although perhaps under normal circumstances he wouldn't have come either, it's a shame. It is a pleasure to see him play and I wish he had been in front of him.

-You were trained at Barcelona. What memories do you have?

-Very good. I was four years, two of Youth and two with Barça C. I am from the fifth of Iniesta, Valdés… I have very good memories. In addition, I have been with Barça since I was little. Of course, before you ask me: on Thursday there are no feelings. I want Cornellà to win.

-Do you know who you are going to ask for the shirt?

-Now with the COVID protocol it is difficult. Although you do not think that we are aware of that. Atlético had a great gesture with us, they brought us a shirt for each of us and we raffled them. I imagine that Barça will do the same.

-Do you dare to predict a result?

-As long as we pass, anyone will do. But a 1-0 would be perfect. These games, if you get something positive, it is great for the League, which is what is really important because it is what feeds us.

-In recent weeks they have had problems with some positive for COVID. How are they doing?

-This is a year in which unexpected things happen every day and we cannot look to the future. At the weekend we did not know if we were going to play and in the end we did, but, for example, on Saturday we each trained at home. It's complicated. But I imagine that all teams go through this type of thing and we are not going to look for excuses. We have enough level to do a good job.

-Despite his long career (with more than 400 matches in the Second Division with the Girona, Alcorcón, Zaragoza, Murcia, Elche and Racing shirts) this will be his second game against a First Division. How do you live it?

-It's a bit strange to have faced First-class teams so few times because I've been playing the Cup for like 14 years and nothing. And this year, in Segunda B with Cornellà, twice. I try to enjoy myself to the fullest and be competitive. It is an experience that you do not forget and more so if it is against world-class teams. Although I have faced Barça B many times and I have beaten them so I hope to repeat. For us winning insurance is much more important than for them and we want it to be noticed.
