“I am committed to Tottenham”

Antonio Conte insisted today that he remains committed to Tottenham despite the fact that on Wednesday he left his continuity on the bench in the air after the surprising defeat he had just conceded on his visit to Burnley (1-0).

Conte revealed today that he spoke with president Daniel Levy and told him that Tottenham is satisfied with his work despite the four defeats in the last five Premier League games that Tottenham has conceded. The disappointment in Burnley came just four days after the ‘spurs’ beat the leader Manchester City at the Etihad (2-3).

“Our president, Daniel Levy, knows very well that I am here to help the club at all times and I will help him until the end,” Conte said. “He shows great consideration for me every day and that’s why I’m much more committed to this club because I know the club’s regard for me is very, very high.”

Losses affect you

Conte acknowledged today that after games he is more sensitive, especially after defeats. “When I lose a game my mood is very bad and I prefer to be alone. I’m sure I need at least a day to recover. It’s me, do you understand me? I do not like lose. If you ask me what I hate in life, it’s losing games. I am an honest person. It’s hard for me to lie or hide the truth.”

Conte shows his volcanic character during matches, but in his statements he is also passionate to the point of expressing himself with total transparency. Eighth-placed Tottenham, seven points behind Manchester United (fourth), visits Leeds this Saturday.
