The French tennis player Ugo Humbert conquered the ATP tournament in Metz, his hometown, this Saturday by beating the Russian Alexander Shevchenko (6-3, 6-3) in the final, while the Frenchman Adrian Mannarino also triumphed in the Sofia tournament , his third title in 2023.
Humbert achieved four out of four, champion every time he plays in a final and for the first time since 2021, with the very special flavor of doing it at home. The emotion overwhelmed the local player when he secured his victory in just over an hour, with a break in the first set and something more forceful in the second.
Meanwhile, Mannarino put the perfect cherry on top of a great second half of the season. The Frenchman, who at 35 years old is in the best moment of his career, defeated (7-6 (6), 2-6, 6-3) the British Jack Draper and will reach his best ATP ranking, number 21 in the world.
The Frenchman, who has won 22 of his last 30 matches on the circuit, adds the victory achieved in Sofia to the crowns raised on grass in Newport and under the cover of Astana to sign a personal record of 43 victories in a single season, one figure fueled by its finale in Mallorca.
