Hugs, screams, and tears of joy are shed by Detroit Lions fans at Ford Field.

They came, yelled, and cried tears of happiness. This past Sunday night, Detroit Lions fans finally got their reward: their team won an NFL playoff game for the first time in 30 years.

As the fourth quarter came to a close, the noise inside Ford Field seemed to get louder and louder until it broke out into a raucous party when quarterback Jared Goff took a knee to seal the win.

Part 215 is a standing-only area, and people were already standing there. As more people came out of their seats and into the second-floor hallway, they joined chants of “Let’s go, Lions” and “Jared Goff.”

Kurmas, who has only been a fan of the team for four or five years, said that she joined later than some fans who have been with them through certain tough years. She’s glad she did it, though.

Kasgorgis walked slowly through a Ford Field atrium full of people who were jumping, dancing, and kissing each other.

He looked at the happiness and smiled, savoring the moment that fans had been waiting for so long.

The player said, “Seeing us win another postseason game is great, it’s awesome.” “All set. We’re taking it all. Haley Kurmas, 41, of Detroit Pointe Park held a sign that said she liked Aidan Hutchinson, a defensive end for the Detroit Lions.

Though the 33-year-old wore a Hutchinson shirt and lost a lot of games over the years, he never gave up on the Lions. He stayed loyal instead, and he thinks the team will win in the end.

When Detroit Lions fans got the chance to boo their former top quarterback who now plays with the Other Team, the cold and strong winds didn’t bother them.

Before the game on Sunday night, some fans said they didn’t want to see other fans boo former Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford when he came back to Ford Field after being traded to the Los Angeles Rams for quarterback Jared Goff.

But not all of them agreed. Ed Lis, 53, about Clarkston said he was going to make his dislike of the former Lion known during the game.

He wore Stafford’s Lions shirt, the No. 9, even though there were a lot of fans walking around the stadium’s walkways. But Lis covered the name Stafford on the back with tape.

He began, “Well, first of all, we shouldn’t wear Stafford jerseys today as we’re playing Stafford.”

But Lis is mad at Stafford because he made him angry when he went to London in 2014 to watch the Lions play the Falcons of Atlanta.

When Lis was crossing the pond, he said that some players came to say hello to him as he stood outside their buses.

But according to him, Stafford turned him down. “This sad video shows me telling Matt, ‘Hey, I came all across the country to London, and you won’t even sign my jersey.'” Lis spoke up.

For Sunday’s game, another fan changed a few things about his Stafford shirt. Chris Waisen, 32, from Durand wrote “Williams” by hand on his back.

Williams, a wide receiver for the Lions, now bears the No. 9 shirt. Early on Sunday night, Fish couldn’t say anything because the Lions were finally back at home for a playoff game.

“You can’t even put it into words.” To warm up inside Ford Field with a beer, Fish said, “Right now it’s all emotion, heart, and effort.”

He was dressed in blue from head to toe. He wore overalls with stripes and a hat, scarf, and gloves with the Lions’ logo on them.

Fish bought a season ticket and was ready for anything that might happen in his Lions fan life. At first, he wouldn’t say how he feels about Stafford coming back to play against his former team without using bad language.

But Fish finally gave up. Fish said, “He gave this town his whole heart and soul.” “But he’s our enemy tonight.” He can be our closest pal again tomorrow.”
