Hugo Duro enters Zidane's list for the Champions League

UEFA has released the rosters of players for the Champions League with a surprise at Real Madrid. The white club has registered Hugo Duro in the A list for the maximum continental competition. The 20-year-old forward, on loan from Getafe to play for Castilla, occupies one of the 25 chips of the main team. Madrid thus covers the only vacancy it had on that A list, since Zidane currently has 24 players in its squad with a first-team record. The attacker, who made his debut with a goal as an under-21 international in September, could not occupy a place on the B list as he did not meet the requirement of having been at the club for two years.

Despite being included in that list A, Hugo Duro will wear a player number 'of the subsidiary': the 34. This is due to the fact that in the Champions League there is no list of numbers specifically reserved for players from lists A and B, as is the case in LaLiga, where footballers with a first-team record have numbers 1 to 25 reserved. Thus, In the Champions League, the 16 that Mayoral has worn before leaving on loan to Roma will also be free.

Madrid have provisionally registered (list B can be modified until the day before each match) in list B 9 Castilla players: they are the goalkeepers Altube (who usually assumes the functions of third goalkeeper of the first team in the League) and Luis Lopez; the defenders Chust, Miguel Gutierrez Y Sergio santos; midfielders Marvin, Arribas, White Y Dotor and the striker Rate. All of them, except Altube, were proclaimed champions of the Youth League last August with Raúl at the controls of the Juvenil.

As in other competitions due to the compression of the calendar due to the pandemic, UEFA has authorized that this season in the Champions League there will be 23 players called up per game and each coach can make 5 substitutions.
