Pixie Curtis is an Australian girl of only 10 years old who, despite her young age, already owns two successful companies: Pixie’s Fidgets, a toy company; and Pixie’s Bows, a hair accessories brand. According to her mother, also a businesswoman, her daughter could retire at 15 if she wanted to.
Pixie’s Fidgets launched in May last year with the help of Pixie’s mother, Roxy Jacenko, and the brand was so successful that the toys sold out within the first 48 hours. In its first month, the company billed AU $ 200,000 (about US $ 143,000), according to information from news.com.au.
Both Pixie’s Fidgets and Pixie’s Bows, a company founded by her mother and named after her daughter when she was just a baby, belong to Pixie’s Pix, an organization that, in addition to what was created by the child, sells other toys, clothing and accessories for children, always with the Pixie stamp of approval.
For her mother, what excites her most about her daughter is her “entrepreneurial spirit” being so young, a characteristic that, according to her, she never had. “When I was 14, I got a job at McDonald’s because that’s what you did in my time. So I guess the most important thing for me is your drive as an entrepreneur,” Jacenko said.
All of this has earned Pixie a huge following on social media, amassing more than 100,000 on Instagram. Despite her success, her mother doesn’t want Pixie to feel an obligation to work for the company. “At the moment when she does not want to be in front, then we will think about it. But for now, she is happy, learning a lot,” he stressed.
