Hoka has launched the new ‘Rocket X 2’, the brand’s highest performance road racing shoes ever created, which are designed for the most competitive athletes and incorporate new geometries, upper and foam.
Specifically redesigned with feedback, ideas and suggestions from Hoka’s elite triathletes and road runners, the Rocket X 2, now available in Spain at a suggested retail price of €250, is designed to meet the needs of long-distance runners.
With a height increase in the midsole and a series of cutting-edge innovations, Hoka applies improved carbon plate technology, geometry and foam compounds. Innovations include a dual-density PEBA foam midsole and a scoop-shaped carbon fiber plate with an early stage MetaRocker.
All molded to improve propulsion with a remastered carbon plate, nestled between new, ultra-reactive PEBA foams, which exhibit higher rebound performance than those used in previous test models.
Two-part ProFlyX midsole construction combines a soft foam top layer with a reactive foam bottom layer to deliver an inherently stable, energetic stride. Also, zones of rubber located in high traction areas have been added to the sole for maximum durability and greater weight savings.
The new upper employs a technical synthetic mesh for a lightweight, breathable, foot-hugging fit, with a double-sided tongue gusset and internal midfoot cage for run-proof support.
The Rocket X 2 model has a weight of 190 grams for a US size 8 for women and 236 grams for size 10 for men. The height of the midsole is 40 mm and the drop is 5. The Rocket X 2 is approved by the World Athletics competition regulations.
GOOD SPORTING RESULTS
The Spanish marathon runner Yago Rojo already competed with them in the European Championships in Munich, where he finished in fifteenth position, also being a bronze medalist for teams with the Spanish team. Other international athletes of the brand have trained and competed with this model, with important results such as that of Futsum Zienasellassie, a member of Hoka Naz Elite, winning the United States Marathon Championship with a time of 2:11:01 in his debut in distance.
Her teammate Aliphine Tuliamuk also ran in the new Rocket X 2s and was the best American in the 2022 New York Marathon with a time of 2:26:18. Also Steph Bruce was first in the United States 10K Road Championships and long-distance runner Hillary Bor also took gold in the United States 10-mile championships.
