Emmanuel Macron (46) is enjoying his holidays while the 2024 Paris Olympic Games are taking place. After attending the opening ceremony last Friday, April 26, and the rugby final on Saturday, the President of the French Republic headed to Fort Brégançon, on the Var coast, where French presidents spend their summer holidays. He is spending these days of leisure there with Brigitte Macron (71), although with one eye on the Olympics. In fact, this Friday, August 2, he returned for the Equestrian – Team Show Jumping final. France took bronze behind Great Britain and the United States.
The president has been photographed by the press of his country during his vacation. The newspaper Here is dedicates its cover to her. It is titled: “La flemme olympique” (The Olympic laziness).
He appears very relaxed on the deckchair and jumping into the sea from the boat he sailed on with his friends. He and his companions are seen having a great time on the inside pages, as we can also see in the lower section. The newspaper writes on its front page: “In the midst of a political crisis and during the Olympic Games, the president takes it easy in Brégançon.”
This year he will be “intermittently” at the holiday home due to the Olympic Games, which are taking place until 11 August. After the opening ceremony on Friday, he was also seen on Saturday cheering on the French rugby team. His team won gold against the Fiji rugby team.
In addition to the Games, which he will return to in the coming days, the President also has a number of appointments scheduled for August. On the 15th, he will attend the international ceremonies marking the 80th anniversary of the Allied landing in Provence at the end of the Second World War, in the presence of other Heads of State and Government. He will also attend the traditional local ceremony commemorating the liberation of Bormes-les-Mimosas on 17 August.
The photos from their holiday come days after it was revealed that the French leader spent 500,000 euros on a dinner for Charles III of England. The meeting was held at Versailles for the state visit of Charles III in September 2023. A banquet of glamour and Michelin stars. 160 guests attended, including the monarch and the British Mick Jagger and Hugh Grant. Prior to the event, Anne-Sophie Pic, a galactic star of the kitchen with ten Michelin stars, Yannick Alléno and Pierre Hermé sent the menu to London to be approved by the House.
