Hazard's 'Belgian jinx'

When this Saturday the news of the positive in coronavirus of Casemiro and Eden Hazard, the environment of the Belgian reacted almost like any madridista. The answers were sad and, above all, resignation. “Again … Very bad luck”, repeated people close to the most expensive signing in the history of Madrid. The same from the sports management and the coaching staff of Belgium, who stressed that the bad luck haunts him since his landing in Spain. That little fortune not only hits Zidane's plans, but also Roberto Martinez. Their captain has not played for the Belgian Red Devils and it will stay that way for almost 16 months.

You have to go far back in the calendar to get to the Hazard's last internationality, in November 2019. In that window he participated in victories 1-4 against Russia (two goals and one assist) and 6-1 against Cyprus (one assist). That is why there was not finally a Eurocup in summer either, to which Eden would have arrived on time even with the passage through the operating room. In September, with the new season the League of Nations returned, but Hazard, summoned, only joined the dynamics of his team to make a group and gain pace. Madrid was angry, since he wanted me to complete the preseason with Zidane in Valdebebas.

His Belgian comeback, once and for all, was expected to come in October, but at the end of September another impediment arose, another physical problem, this muscular one. In the friendly against Switzerland, set for the next November 11, Hazard could have broken a chain of mishaps that would have prevented him from helping his country on the turf for 358 days. Then he had to face two decisive days of the League of Nations. But now he must also postpone his return, since his contagion prevents him from traveling. He has to hold out until March 2020 …
