Hazard is expensive: every minute costs Real Madrid € 72,000

Eden Hazard, for now, is expensive for Real Madrid. The Belgian arrived in the summer of 2019 from Chelsea in exchange for a fixed € 100 million, plus another variable amount based on undisclosed objectives; a part of them will probably have already been made effective after the Madrid League title last year, although in the section on individual player performance it is sure that these objectives have not been achieved.

And it is that Hazard's path at Real Madrid, in a year and a half, is currently a path with very few roses and many thorns: 28 games, 1,860 minutes, three goals and seven assists.. If this year and a half of the Belgian in the White House has been defined for something, it has been by injuries: up to eight accumulates white at the moment the last one a few days ago and that will keep you out for the next two-three weeks; shortly before he had to overcome the coronavirus.

To this must be added Hazard's tendency to appear in the summer, after his holidays, very out of shape, which makes him more prone to muscle injuries and forces him to adapt longer to reach a good point of form. For all this, the operation has been very expensive for Madrid at the moment, although the hope reigns in the club that Hazard will leave this dark stage behind, when he is about to turn 30 years old.

So far, every minute of the Belgian on the pitch has cost Madrid 72,258 euros. It is the result of dividing the minutes you have played for what it has cost so far, that is, the 100 million of his transfer and his salary during the 18 months he has been a Real Madrid player (he charges 24 million gross per course), which at two million per month rises to 36, although this should be deducted from the reduction that the dressing room agreed with the squad at the beginning of April. It ended up being 10%, as the competition resumed (if it did not get to do so, it would have been 20%), so Hazard forgave 1.6 million euros.

Thus, the total cost of the Belgian so far has been 134.4 million for the coffers of the Madrid club. A lot of money that, at the moment, has not found sports profitability: each game has cost Madrid 4.8 million; each goal, 44.8 million; and each attendance, 19.2 million.
