“Haaland to Bayern? When you see the games he has missed…”

Choosing between Robert Lewandowski or Erling Haaland is not an easy decision. It is not for a fan and less, for Hasan Salihamidzic, sports director of Bayern Munich. In this diatribe is the former player and now president with a complicated situation regarding his attack point. The Pole is Bayern’s big star and proves to be the fittest forward in Europe today, but he has yet to sign his new contract. The commitment between the two ends in 2023 and, at the moment, there is no new firm looking to maintain the idyll that led them to win everything in Germany and beyond its borders.

Pending the situation of Warsaw, Bild assures that Bayern does not take its eyes off Erling Haaland, star of Borussia Dortmund. Although Real Madrid and Manchester City are ahead, Bayern is not officially retiring pending Lewandowski’s future. Right now, they say in the German newspaper, it seems difficult financially that Bayern could fit both his signing and his salary and the corresponding commissions. But still, keep an eye out.

For Tobi Altschaffl, who signs this information in the German newspaper, the signing of Haaland and the departure of Lewandowski would not be the best possible move, not even taking into account the age of both.

“I think signing Haaland would not be a great idea because it is very expensive and you would send one of your best players out. When you see how many games Haaland has missed and how ‘fit’ Lewandowski is at his age, I think Bayern would do well to keep Lewandowski.”

Since being at Borussia Dortmund, Haaland has accumulated several muscle problems that have led him to miss several games in different seasons. In this, he adds 16 games out due to various injuries of this type.

Even so, their figures hold up at the level of the best. The Norwegian has signed 23 goals and six assists in 20 games. An average goal every 70 minutes that is within the reach of very few.

With a notable age difference (12 years), Lewandowski has accumulated many more minutes this campaign (1,618 for the Norwegian to 2,865 for the Pole) and data that almost doubles Haaland’s figures: 39 goals in 33 games in all competitions. His goal average between all of them barely raises the Norwegian’s by three minutes and he has only lost one game in the entire campaign. The reason? Nagelsmann gave him rest. A complicated comparison between two of the best gunners.
