The relationship between Erling Haaland and Borussia Dortmund wears out day by day. The German team has bet everything to retain its star, but the Norwegian has not yet decided what will happen to his future. From one side, that of the club, they need an answer to plan for next season, while from that of the player, they prefer to wait to contemplate all possible options before clinging to one. Haaland himself Publicly acknowledged feeling “pressured” by Dortmund. These statements have not pleased the leaders, who have been responsible for answering.
Hans-Joachim Watzke, CEO of the entity, has come forward to clarify the situation. The point is that he has done it in ways that denote his discomfort. “The truth is that we were surprised by that statement because we had not yet spoken with him. To say that Dortmund would give Haaland an ultimatum is bullshit. There is no deadline“, recognized the president in an interview for ARD. Watzke also warned that, if he ends up leaving, they will go to the market to buy a high-level striker to replace him.
The Dortmund-Haaland negotiation is completely blocked. This is due, in part, to the absence of Mino Raiola, the player’s agent, who has been hospitalized in Milan for several days after surgery. The Italian is the main issuer of the Norwegian and the one who advises him the most, along with his father, in the negotiations. His sick leave has stopped everything and there is still no date for him to return to work. Time is running out and there is not much left to make decisions. The season has just over four months left and all the teams, including BVB, are already planning the next one. The ball is in the player’s court, but the yellows could cut to the chase: withdraw the renewal offer and go for a replacement.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid, among others, are waiting. From the white club they begin to filter that the conditions to carry out the signing are taking place and that is a real goal for next year. However, there are other major stakeholders and it will not be an easy negotiation. Whether or not it is done will depend largely on the player’s desire to wear white and the facilities provided by Dortmund, a friendly club, to carry out the operation.
