Guevara wins again at Sachsering and puts pressure on García Dols in the Moto3 World Championship

MADRID, 19 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish rider Izan Guevara (GasGas) achieved victory this Sunday in the Moto3 race of the German Grand Prix, the tenth round of the Motorcycle World Championship, a result that allows him to come within just seven points of his teammate and leader of the championship, Sergio García Dols (GasGas), who was third behind the Italian Dennis Foggia (Honda).

The man from Palma thus signs his third victory of the year, second in a row after the Grand Prix of Catalonia, and his fifth consecutive podium finish. With this, he is only seven units away in the drivers’ general standings from Burriana, who fought until the end for second place with Foggia but had to settle for being third.

Sachsering offered a bumpy start for Carlos Tatay (CFMoto), who crashed in the first corner of the opening lap after colliding with the Italian Riccardo Rossi (Honda). Meanwhile, Guevara gave no chance to surprise and defended his pole position.

David Muñoz (KTM), who made history in Barcelona with his second place, moved up to fourth place, but a mistake on lap 22 allowed the Leopards and García Dols to overtake him. The leader, just a few laps later, managed to reach podium positions.

Little by little, Guevara was escaping to more than four seconds, and from behind the Italian Dennis Foggia (Honda), the one from Burriana and the Japanese Ayumu Sasaki (Husqvarna) ‘hit’ for the other two boxes, a fight that kept until the end.

The man from Alpine and the man from Castellón managed to leave the Japanese behind and went for second place in an exciting last lap; García Dols was able to overtake you when braking on lap 13, but Foggia returned the pass to cross the finish line ahead.

As for the rest of the Spaniards, Dani Holgado (KTM) was sixth, Adrián Fernández (KTM) finished eighth, just ahead of David Muñoz (KTM) and Iván Ortolá (KTM), Jaume Masià (KTM) finished twelfth, Xavi Artigas (CFMoto) fourteenth and Ana Carrasco (KTM) twenty-second. For his part, Carlos Tatay (CFMoto) could not finish the test.
