Guevara starts in the front row in Moto3 and García Dols will have to come back

MADRID, 25 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Japanese rider Ayumu Sasaki (Husqvarna) took pole this Saturday for the Moto3 race of the Dutch Grand Prix, the eleventh round of the Motorcycle World Championship, ahead of his compatriot Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda) and the Spanish Izan Guevara (GasGas ), who will try to take the lead from his teammate Sergio García Dols (GasGas), who will start eighteenth.

With time to zero, Sasaki became the seventh driver on pole in 11 races this year, all thanks to a 1m41.296s that allowed him to overtake the other Japanese competitor. Meanwhile, Guevara will close the first row of the grid.

The Balearic will start with an advantage in his fight for the leadership of the small category, which Sergio García Dols holds with a seven-point lead. The one from Burriana had problems during the qualifying session and finished last in Q2, more than a second behind the ‘poleman’.

On a dry and heavily trafficked start, Jaume Masià (KTM) set the first major benchmark time, although Japan’s Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda) soon snatched the top spot from him in the timesheets followed by Friday’s surprising dominator , David Munoz (KTM).

With just over a minute to go, Izan Guevara (GasGas), winner last week at the Sachsenring, moved up to second place to sneak into the front row. Suzuki went down in his attempt to improve, something that his compatriot Sasaki took advantage of to, with a time of 1:41.296, take pole.

For his part, Muñoz will finally start fourth, leading a second line that will also include Jaume Masià (KTM) and Adrián Fernández (KTM). In addition, Xavi Artigas (CFMoto) will start ninth and Dani Holgado (KTM) twelfth.

Among those who did not pass Q1, Iván Ortolá (KTM) will start the event twenty-first, Carlos Tatay (CFMoto) will start twenty-third and Ana Carrasco (KTM) twenty-eighth.
