Griezmann: “I want to set the goals record as high as possible”

The French forward and Pantomime Full toast with Tanqueray 0.0% for his record as Atlético's all-time top scorer

MADRID, 16 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The French footballer Antoine Griezmann, already established as Atlético de Madrid's all-time top scorer, has advocated “setting the goals record as high as possible”, with the hope that some Colchonero youth squad “will get excited and want to score more” in A near future.

The comedians Rober Bodegas and Alberto Casado, members of the duo Pantomima Full, have interviewed Griezmann after having surpassed Luis Aragonés as the red-and-white top scorer. All this under the sponsorship of Tanqueray 0.0% for 'Un 0-0 con…', the series of interviews in which the club's players reveal their most personal side.

Griezmann was the first to score at the Metropolitan Stadium after moving from the Vicente Calderón, a goal that he confesses feels like the “most important.” And he already has 174 goals, after the one scored against Real Madrid during the first semifinal of the recent Spanish Super Cup. “I'm very proud,” said the 'Little Prince' about his record.

“My idea is to put it as high as possible so that a future '9', a youth player from the Academy, gets excited and wants to score more goals to surpass me,” the Frenchman confessed. “Right now we have several in the first team who could achieve it: Riquelme, Samu, Pablo Barrios… I'm sure they will do very well, but scoring 174 goals is not easy,” he added.

One of the images that went around the world was the shirt in tribute to Aragonés that Griezmann wore when he equaled his mark. “I ordered it two months before from a designer in France, but there were problems with shipping and it didn't arrive. So when the number of goals approached I ordered another one again and I made sure that my best friend went to Paris to get it and “I brought it to Madrid. It arrived in one day!” he said.

A self-confessed collector of stickers, he told Pantomime Full that he has a problem because of his son Amaro. “He also collects them and of course, he asks me to bring them signed. So I'll have to start asking my rivals for signatures. Sorry mates!” Griezmann joked.
