“I owe a lot to Simeone”

The French forward of Atlético de Madrid, Antoine Griezmann, confessed this Monday that the end of the season has been the moment in which he is “enjoying” the most at the rojiblanco club, to which he returned after doing “everything possible” to to “take him back”.
“I still have to improve offensively and defensively but, in recent years, it is the moment in which I am enjoying the most. I am on the right path to do so and to help my team as much as possible,” said the Frenchman in statements to ‘ICONS : Antoine Griezmann’, the first installment of the DAZN interview series with figures from LaLiga Santander.
Griezmann valued his return to Atlético after his time at FC Barcelona, admitting that “a complicated stage”. “I saw that I could contribute to the team, my legs and my mind felt very good. It was difficult for me, but I have the best woman and the best children at home to put up with all that,” he commented on the few opportunities on his return.
“I have continued working, talking to my teammates and letting off steam from time to time. With work you always have the reward,” he added about the club where he feels “happiest.” “I have always said that I wanted to play in MLS, but I did everything possible to come back here, to be accepted back, and I have done everything to be able to enjoy myself at Atleti,” she said.
