Great goal by Carles Pérez in the 'little hand' of Roma (5-2)

Carles Pérez illuminated the Olympic in Rome with a real goal this Sunday in the 5-2 “giallorosso” win against Benevento. Former Barcelona player Pedro was key for Roma to come back against the recently promoted team of Pippo Inzaghi and achieve an essential victory to climb positions in the Serie A table. The former Chelsea striker leveled the game when Benevento had been ahead on the scoreboard and was subject to the penalty that Veretout converted into the 'giallorossi' third goal.

It was not an easy game for Paulo Fonseca's Roma, although, on the scoreboard, it seems otherwise. And it is that in minute 5 the brave Benevento de Inzaghi went ahead thanks to Gianluca Caprari, precisely a former youth player for Roma. After this triumph, the ‘giallorossi’ are seventh in the table, 5 points behind the leader, Milan. Benevento is 10th.

Pedro, who completed a magnificent game, came out in the 31st minute to the rescue of his new team by scoring 1-1 from the center of the area, with his left foot and a pass from Pellegrini. The second was the work of Edin Dzeko and at 35 ': a move started by Mirante and a pass from Mkhitaryan to the Bosnian attacker, who beat Lorenzo Montipo, Benevento goalkeeper.

Whoever believed that Roma had already resolved the match was wrong. On the edge of the break, the referee annulled a goal to Mkhitaryan due to outside play and already in the second half, Pippo Inzaghi's team sowed concern among the ‘giallorossi’ by equalizing the score. Penalty in favor of Benevento, was missed by Gianluca Lapadula, but took advantage of the rejection to make it 2-2.

Dzeko's double in Roma's win against a brave Benevento

Roma, however, despite not being the one their fans want in their game yet, they knew how to get ahead. Pedro was the subject of a Montipo penalty and was transformed by Jordan Veretout at 3-2 in the 69th minute. The night ended in a 'giallorossa' party: the fourth came after a great counterattack that Dzeko culminated and the fifth was a real goal by Carles Pérez, in a slálom in which, starting from the middle of the field, he beat two rivals and connected a shot from the edge of the area.
