Granada transfers the emergencies to Alavés

Granada achieved a victory ‘in extremis’ in Nuevo Los Cármenes by tying the three points against Deportivo Alavés thanks to a goal from Colombian Santiago Arias in the final stretch of the meeting. A triumph that gives oxygen to the Andalusian team and that helps them to overcome in the classification their rival tonight, who now has one point less and is only two from the relegation zone.

The first part, for opportunities, was from Granada. The Nasrid team, with a ‘1-4-4-2’, with the former Sevilla squire inside left, was the one that created the most danger during the first 45 minutes against a team from Vitoria that did not cause concern to Maximiano’s area. Although the ball did not have a clear dominator, those of Robert Moreno, who served his second and last penalty game, deserved to go to rest with an advantage on the scoreboard, as they did.

Antonio Puertas was the proper name of the first period, as he had up to three clear options to open the scoreboard. Already in the 11th minute, after a cross from Carlos Neva, his header was narrowly deflected. Almost immediately already yes he hit with a good shot from the front adjusted to the left post de Pacheco and after a bad clearance by Laguardia. The rojiblanco winger would have a third time, half an hour later, in a rehearsed play to serve from a corner, but this time he was not accurate. Of the ‘Glorious’ without news in attack, and with a just 1-0 it was reached the intermission.

After passing through the locker room, Deportivo Alavés was seen much more involved and with greater verticality. Proof of this is that the minute could tie but Toni Moya failed what seemed impossible. Luis Rioja put in a low cross, the ball went through the small area and the midfielder, without a goalkeeper, did not connect well, sending it out.

The ill-fated occasion pissed off Alavés and did not wake up Granada, who played at the mercy of their rival, who had several to tie. In the 63rd minute Joselu connected a strong kick that Maximiano saved while in the next action Luis Rioja made the local goalkeeper shine, who took out a ball that slipped through the squad with his mitt.

Alavés continued to insist until they were rewarded. It arrived in minute 81, when A cross by Luis Rioja was cleared by Abram towards his own goal, scoring at his own goal. The team from Vitoria deserved the goal and the draw was the fairest result, but Granada, in one of their sporadic arrivals at the rival area in the second half, ended up swinging the balance in their favor. Did in the 86th minute, through a corner kick. The ball reached Abram, his header was repelled by the post and the rebound was picked up by Colombian Santiago Arias to score to empty door and sign what would already be the final 2-1.
