Granada does not lose the trail of Europe

Granada tied the three points at Nuevo Los Cármenes, in the postponed match of the fourth day of LaLiga Santander, after beating Osasuna 2-0. A victory that helps the Andalusian team not to lose the wake of the sixth position, three points away, and that keeps the Navarrese in the penultimate position, three points from the permanence, and with his coach Jagoba Arrasate in a compromised situation . Not in vain the Pamplona team has already accumulated twelve games without winning, going back to last October 24, the day they celebrated their centenary against Athletic (1-0).

Granada put the victory on track before halftime was reached against an Osasuna who paid dearly for his lack of defensive concentration in two set pieces and barely existed in attack. The Nasrid team had their first chance in the 21st minute, when full-back Pepe, a replacement ‘in extremis’ for Foulquier, with discomfort in the warm-up, shot wide. Immediately afterwards, Granada no longer failed the second they had. A Machís center, after a short kick from a corner, was poorly cleared by Calleri, the ball reached Luis Suárez and the Colombian, inside the area, ‘shot’ Sergio Herrera.

The goal did not wake up Osasuna, who was able to fit the second in a hand in hand by Machís with Sergio Herrera, but the red goalkeeper kicked out the poisoned shot of the Venezuelan. The Navarrese did not show signs of life in attack until half an hour, with a distant shot from Moncayola that went wide, and they ended up going to rest with an even more adverse score. And it is that in the extension of this first period, in another corner, he conceded another goal. Machís executed it very close, Calleri, as in 1-0, did not clear and the ball entered the goal after touching goalkeeper Sergio Herrera.

Visiting mirage

The passage through the changing rooms seemed to sit better for Osasuna, who came out at the restart with one more march and who in just two minutes had three options to cut distances, the clearest a shot from Roberto Torres that made Rui Silva intervene.

Osasuna, however, did not have continuity and the game returned to level, without both teams managing to prevail on the grass, which motivated both Diego Martínez and Jagoba Arrasate to begin to introduce changes at match time. The one from Berriatua had no choice but to gamble, putting in another striker, Budimir, to later also bet on two more attackers, Kike Barja and Enric Gallego.

So much ‘gunpowder’ in the green was not reflected, since Osasuna hardly disturbed Granada until the end of the match. Only one shot from another of the changes, Lucas Torró, made Rui Silva work, so Granada, without stress, ended up securing a victory that allows them to continue having the ‘Europe zone’ at their fingertips.
