During the last days, there have been rumors in Italy about a possible departure of Diego Godín from Inter Milan. However, the Uruguayan, formerly of the Atlético de Madrid and one of the best defenders who have gone through the history of the rojiblanco club, has wanted to keep up with the rumors in Corriere dello Sport. The 34-year-old center-back assures that he has not thought of leaving at any time and that his intention is to stay at the Italian club as long as the board wants:
“The truth is that these news about my future away from Milan surprise me a lot. Since I came to Inter, I have always felt good both at the club and with the fans. I feel the confidence of the club and here I am at home. It never crossed my mind to leave Inter. I feel totally part of the project and the costumes are spectacular. My intention is to respect the contract and enjoy this wonderful adventure in Italy and with this shirt. Coming here was my choice and I did it with the intention of helping this club win new titles, win as many as possible. I understand that the club is also happy with me and that fills me with pride. It is not true that I want to leave. I have never spoken to anyone about this hypothesis, because I will stay here and do whatever it takes to help the team. If the managers are happy with my performance, my experience at Inter will continue. “
