Gil Silgado, ex of María Jesús Ruiz, free after serving three years in prison: he suffers from an incurable illness

After several appeals and pleas, the judge has decreed his supervised release due to an “incurable illness.” He left this Friday.

It was his sister Cinti who picked him up this afternoon at the doors of the Huelva prison. Gil Silgadowho from now on will live in a family apartment, breathes easy: “After what I've been through, I'm happy to have regained my freedom even though I'm in poor health.”he told the magazine Week. “Between colon cancer and heart cancer, I have been more there than here. “We have moved forward fighting.”

The businessman now faces a new stage in his life: “I am not wearing a telematic bracelet because, having been in jail for another month, I have been granted conditional release. Next week they are going to admit me to the Virgen del Rocío Hospital so that I can do some tests and then I'll get back into the rhythm of life little by little. And he confesses: “I want to start from scratch and fight. Life in prison is very hard. It has been three years and three complicated months. Now I just want to hug my loved ones.”

A truculent love

The name of José María Gil Silgado came to the fore in the early 2000s, when he began a high-profile romantic relationship with Miss Spain. Maria Jesus Ruiz. They had a daughter, Alba. In 2018 they ended the courtship and a battle of crossed accusations began in which the model accused the businessman of “physical abuse, insults and threats.” Finally, he was sentenced to nine months in prison for “coercing the mother of his daughter.”

Gil Silgado received this sentence already in prison. He was serving an 18-month sentence for a crime of confiscation of assets after having already spent two years in prison for a crime against the Public Treasury. He was also accused, and later acquitted, of laundering money from the 'Malaysian plot' through Xerez Club Deportivo, of which he was president.
