Ryan Giggs is out of the Premier League Hall of Fame after being accused of assaulting two women. The Welsh Manchester United legend, who won 13 league titles, I was going to be one of the first players to be included along with the all-time English league scorer Alan Shearer (260 goals).
Thierry Henry replaces Giggs and has been announced on Monday alongside Shearer as the first two players to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Former French and historic Arsenal striker scored 175 Premier League goals in 258 games.
The competition has now compiled a list of 23 names for fans to vote for the incorporation of another six players, once Giggs is completely out.
The Welshman is the most decorated player in the history of English football with a total of 34 trophies, including two Champions League, four FA Cup and one European Super Cup. He is also the footballer who games played in United history (963) and his absence from the Hall of Fame has caused a great surprise.
Giggs is due to appear in court on Wednesday, charged with assaulting two women and having controlling behavior over them. He has been replaced before this summer's Eurocup by Robert Page with the case hovering over his head.
Giggs is understood to be bitterly disappointed in the unfolding of this dark episode. The former footballer has maintained his innocence throughout this process.
