MADRID, 18 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Brazilian striker Geyse Da Silva Ferreira, from FC Barcelona, has become a new Manchester United footballer this Friday, after the Blaugrana club and the ‘Red Devils’ have reached an agreement to formalize his transfer.
Through a statement on its website, Barça thanked the 25-year-old player “for her professionalism in the season that she has worn the Barça shirt and wishes her the best of luck in her future, both personally and professionally”.
Geyse, who recently played in the World Cup with the Brazilian team, played a total of 37 games as a culé last year; he scored 11 goals in all competitions and won the Finetwork Liga F, the Spanish Super Cup and the Champions League. Before his time at ‘Can Barça’, the Brazilian had played four seasons at Madrid CFF.
“I am very happy to be here. Signing for Manchester United has been a very special day for me and my family,” Geyse told the Manchester club’s official media. “I am very grateful for this opportunity and I thank everyone for making it happen,” he added.
The ‘Red Devils’ coach, Marc Skinner, has defined Geyse as “a proven winner on the biggest stages”. “She has won both national and international titles and her winning mentality is an important addition to our team ahead of a busy season in several major competitions,” he added.
“We are delighted to welcome Geyse into our Manchester United family and can’t wait to see her thrill our wonderful fans,” Skinner concluded in his new signing analysis.
