Getafe City Council and Getafe CF have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez for 40 years, with an extension of another 10 years if ratified by both parties and with the possibility that it may have advertising sponsorship, has confirmed this Friday the blue club.
According to the agreement, the club will have to pay “a municipal canon for the use of the facility”, which retains its public nature and whose amount “may be used in the works carried out by the club to condition and improve the stadium.” In addition, Getafe will also have to face all the necessary maintenance works for the facility for the duration of the concession, as well as the cost of supplies.
On the other hand, the club must contribute 150,000 euros annually, which “will result directly in the sports entities of the city” under the criteria and guidelines of the Department of Sports, for “the promotion of grassroots sports in Getafe in different disciplines”.
The Azulona entity will also maintain the exclusive use of the Sports City, committing itself to the maintenance of the Football School and to reserving at least 25 scholarship places for minors from disadvantaged families in the municipality. This concession includes the municipal premises at Avenida Teresa de Calcuta No. 8, where the club will expand its office, administration and Foundation facilities.
The agreement also includes the possibility that the stadium may have advertising sponsorship, as long as the name ‘Coliseum’ is maintained. “The City Council will ensure that in the event of a new advertising name, this is not contrary to the general interest, without harming the image of the municipality while maintaining the spirit and sports values, equality and diversity,” the statement said.
