Germany – Switzerland will be played without an audience due to contagion rates

The party of the League of Nations that faces this Tuesday the national teams of Germany and Switzerland, in the city of Suburb, will take place without the presence of fans, as reported today by the German Football Federation (DFB).

The contagion rates due to COVID-19 in the German city far exceed the limit allowed for the week of 35 new infected people per 100,000 inhabitants.

For this reason, the health authorities of Cologne, in accordance with the regulations in force in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, had to “again prohibit the Federation from admitting spectators.”

Given the circumstances, DFB resigned to request the admission of 300 spectators, amount allowed last Wednesday in the game of the German soccer team against Turkey, which ended in a tie 3-3.

For its part, the Institute Robert Koch (RKI), the government body in charge of infectious disease control, reported an incidence of 66.3 in Cologne over seven days. Cities with a score higher than 50 are considered risk areas.
