Germany and Netherlands complete the 'F4' of the Women's Nations League

MADRID, 5 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The teams of Germany and the Netherlands, this one with an epic final match, completed this Tuesday the quartet of teams that will fight next February for the title of the first 2023-2024 Nations League and for the two tickets for the Paris Olympic Games.

These teams joined Spain and France, already classified on the previous day, and will be in the draw next Monday, December 11, which will define the semi-finals of the 'F4' that will be played between February 21 and 28 in a venue still to be defined and that will be decided by the two who will live the Olympic dream with the French team.

The Netherlands lived a frenetic night that ended in an epic 4-0 victory against Belgium, a rout that left England's 6-0 victory over Scotland in nothing, with the current European champion and world runner-up almost savoring the pass until the It was two late goals from the Dutch.

The two teams faced the last match tied on points and if both teams met, the classification would be decided by the general 'goal-average' since the individual team was tied. And the end in both fields was full of tension and emotion because, at minute 90, the Netherlands led 2-0 and England 0-5, so the ticket went to the English. Then, the Spanish Damaris Egurrola made it 3-0 in the 91st minute and changed the script, just in the blink of an eye, what it took Lucy Bronze to make it 0-6 in the 93rd minute. In the end, Vivianne Miedema, fresh from a serious knee injury, made it 4-0 in the 95th minute and unleashed madness for the Netherlands that headed towards the 'F4' by a goal difference.

For its part, Germany also entered the 'Final Four' with some suspense after drawing goalless on its visit to Wales and benefiting from Denmark's unexpected defeat at home against Iceland by 0-1 with a both in the final minutes. The Germans needed to equal the result of the Danes to qualify after having defeated them 3-0 on the previous day and being tied on points, but with the goal-average won.
