German Schalke removes ‘Gazprom’ from their shirts after Russian attack on Ukraine

MADRID, 24 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Schalke 04, a team from the German second division, announced this Thursday that it has decided to remove the name of the Russian company ‘Gazprom’ from its shirts, on the occasion of the Russian invasion of Ukraine

“In view of the events, development and escalation of the last few days, FC Schalke 04 has decided to remove the inscription of its main sponsor ‘Gazprom’ from the shirts,” the UEFA Cup winner said in a statement. 1997, which added that this step has been made “in talks” with the German branch of ‘Gazprom’.
