Gerard gets to 200

Gerard Moreno will fulfill his 200th match against Levante in the first game of 2022 with the Villarreal shirt. The Catalan forward will become player number eighteen in yellow history in playing two hundred official matches.

The figure is divided into 138 League matches, 30 in the Europa League, 14 in the Smartbank League, 13 in the King’s Cup, 3 Champions League matches and one in the Super Cup final. In these 199 encounters, Gerard has achieved a total of 91 goals and has distributed 31 goal assists. The Submarino’s top scorer scored 62 goals in the League, 15 in the Europa League, 3 in the Smartbank League, 9 in the Copa del Rey, one goal in the Champions League and one goal in the Super Cup final.

In Villarreal’s forward list, Moreno is the first to add those 200 games, since the next strikers with the most games are: Giuseppe Rossi (192 games and 82 goals) Antonio Guayre (181 games and 25 goals) and Víctor Fernández ( 167 games and with 44 goals).

Gerard arrives at these 200 games in the best sporting moment, since right now he is the benchmark player of the yellow team, being in addition to its top scorer, the player through whom the attack game passes.
