Generali and the Spanish Rugby Federation will bring rugby to more than 800 schools and 50,000 students

Among the educational centers, 100 ‘kits’ will be raffled with the equipment for students to practice this sport

MADRID, 9 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Generali insurer and the Spanish Rugby Federation (FER) have presented this Tuesday the third edition of ‘Generali Get Into Rugby’, the educational program that seeks to introduce rugby as a school sport in schools in Spain and promote the development of fundamental skills such as resistance, agility and concentration and the values associated with the sport of oval ball such as respect, integrity, commitment and camaraderie.

In this edition, the objective is to reach 800 schools and more than 50,000 students. Starting this Tuesday, those schools that want to participate in the program can register on the website: https://getintorugby.generali.es/ until June 12.

After this period, training sessions for teachers will be held and, among all the registered schools, 100 ‘kits’ will be raffled with all the necessary equipment so that students can practice rugby tape at their school, a non-contact modality that allows them to understand the rules of the game and help boys and girls enjoy rugby in a safe and inclusive way.

Teachers who complete the training will be able to receive a free official federative degree recognized by the FER that enables them to teach the practice of this sport in the school environment.

It has also sought to promote inclusion with the incorporation of a module fully adapted to the specific needs of students with special educational needs so that teachers have the necessary resources to incorporate it into their educational program.

With the return to the classrooms in the 23-24 academic year and as a complement to the theoretical sessions, the participating schools and teachers will receive the support of both the federation and those clubs closest to the centers with the holding of practical sessions that will help that teachers and students enjoy the program even more.

In addition, for this edition, Generali and the FER have published the book ‘Rugby and its educational value’ with the aim that all centers have it to strengthen this sport in the classroom.

The presentation has had the participation of Javier Aguirre de Cárcer, director of communication of Generali; the general director of the Spanish Rugby Federation, Miguel Ángel Martín; the player of the Spanish team Nacho Molina, a physical education teacher who has shared his experience in both fields with the attendees, and César Archilla, head of the Get Into Rugby programme.

Javier Aguirre de Cárcer, Generali’s communication director, highlighted that the first two editions of the program have been a complete success. “For this reason, we want to continue disseminating rugby with all its benefits among schools in Spain, since we are convinced that thanks to the practice of this sport and its values we are helping to make today’s boys and girls better adults tomorrow. “, he commented.

For his part, Miguel Ángel Martín, general director of the Spanish Rugby Federation, stressed that, thanks to the support of Generali, they continue to promote this program that “is essential to consolidate this sport, create fans and that new players emerge to take over to the current ones”.

From his point of view as a player and physical education teacher, Nacho Molina added that bringing sports such as rugby closer to boys and girls in a fun and inclusive way “is fundamental to building healthy relationships in the classroom as well as consolidating healthy lifestyle habits “. “I wish I had a program like Get Into Ruby when I was studying because I am convinced that it generates fans and interest in the sport,” he added.

Get Into Rugby is one of the initiatives that Generali develops to promote a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle in society such as Generali Vitality, a wellness program that aims to actively encourage and improve people’s health by promoting and rewarding the incorporation of healthy habits into their day to day.
