MADRID, 15 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Spanish soccer players Ansu Fati, Gavi, Pedri González, Nico González, Alejandro Baldé (FC Barcelona), Nico Williams (Athletic Club) and Yéremy Pino (Villarreal) are among the 100 candidates under the age of 21 to win the ‘Golden Boy 2022’, as announced by the Italian media Tuttosport this Wednesday.
Up to seven Spanish soccer players stand out on the list, with Barça as one of the teams that contributes the most, with up to five soccer players. Thus, Ansu Fati (with few options due to his injuries), Alejandro Baldé, Nico González, Gavi -fixed for Xavi Hernández at Barça at the age of 17- and Pedri, who already won the award in 2021, will be the Barça players who opt to this award.
Yeremy Pino; Nick Williams; the former azulgrana Ilaix Moriba, on loan to Valencia in the second round of the season; and Raúl Moro, a Spanish soccer player from Lazio, complete the list of national players who aspire to the award.
In addition, the Real Madrid player Eduardo Camavinga, 19 years old, champion of the League and Champions and the only representative of the white team; and Valencian Yunus Musah close the list of LaLiga Santander footballers among the 100 under 21s who can do with the ‘Golden Boy 2022’.
Among the top favorites to succeed Pedri as the best young footballer in the world are Jude Bellingham, Moukoko, Giovanni Reyna and Karim Adeyemi, from Borussia Dortmund; Jamal Musiala and Ryan Gravenberch, from Bayern Munich; Ryan Cherki, from Olympique de Lyon; Anthony Elanga of Manchester United; or Nuno Mendes from PSG.
The ‘Golden Boy’ has had winners such as Erling Haaland, Joao Félix, Kylian Mbappé, Isco, Cesc Fábregas or Leo Messi, with the Dutchman Rafael Van der Vaart, as the first young man to win this award in 2003.
