Like Gavi, Ángel Zubieta was a young talent who appeared in the first team ahead of schedule. This footballer, born in Galdácano on July 17, 1918, made his debut for Athletic on October 27, 1935. As rojiblanco he played only that season, but in it he played 27 games to help the team win its fourth league.

It was in the spring of that historic year, 1936, when he put on the shirt of the Spanish team for the first time. Nine days later he added his second caps in Bern against Switzerland (0-2).

There he played thirteen seasons and is considered a historic player for the Argentine team. With 352 games, he is the fourth player with the most games played in the club's history. In 1952 he returned to Spain to sign for Athletic but, failing to reach an understanding, he spent his last years as a professional playing for Deportivo de la Coruña.

He ended his football life as a coach, directing Deportivo Español, Athletic, Valladolid, Pumas, Atlético Atlanta …

UEFA surrenders to Gavi

The official account of the Nations League dedicated a tweet to Gavi, for his record and his great performance against Italy. The Barcelona youth squad was precise in the pass, barely made mistakes and made great ball drives. In addition, he was a very hard worker in the recovery, intercepted several Italian boarding schools and stole merit balls in the spinal cord.
